The technology used is derived from particle physics techniques to charaterise sub atomic particles. When deltaDOT technologies are applied to existing capillary and microfluidic technologies the quality of analysis and throughput of these systems to significantly improved.

Gel electrophoresis and chromatography are the two main separation techniques that are used to detect and analyse biomolecules. Both techniques rely on old technology, which has changed little since their inception. The advantage of deltaDOT technology over existing techniques are:-
