HPCE - PEREGRINE

The Peregrine HPCE is a benchtop instrument that enables fast, high quality separations of biomolecules. Peregrine is employed in a broad spectrum of laboratories - Protein science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biopharmaceutical QA/QC, Plant science, Forensics as well as Diagnostics. Some of the main applications include:

Want to know what results you could get from your samples? Download our Sample Information Form, complete it and email it back to us. We will get back to you with what you can expect from the Peregrine  HPCE.

deltaTITER

deltaTITER is a novel one hour baculovirus titration system which enables researchers to accurately quantify the amount of baculovirus in a sample in just one hour. The method is kit-based, automated and simple to use. deltaTITER uses a proprietary buffer system that utilises deltaDOT's state-of-the art HPCE technology. More information on deltaTITER can be found in the brochure, or in the dedicated website www.deltatiter.com.

Antibodies

In order to assess the bioactivity and safety of rMAbs (recombinant monoclonal antibodies) as biopharmaceutical products, it is important to characterise the biopharmaceutical molecule itself and any impurities present. Not only is the information important for the assessment of the suitability of a potential biopharmaceutical product, it is also important to optimise and quality-control the manufacturing process, storage conditions and life-time of the drug.

Accurate characterisation of IgG is key in utilising rMAb as therapeutic and diagnostic agents. Using deltaDOTs Peregrine and Label Free Intrinsic Imaging (LFII) technology, valuable information on sample stability, purity and heterogeneity can be obtained, as described here.

Chiral Analysis

Analysis and resolution of chiral molecules poses particular challenges. The Peregrine system can be used to examine enantiomers, giving high quality reproducible data. In the analysis described here, four pairs of enantiomers from a range of basic, neutral and acidic drugs were successfully analysed and resolved using deltaDOTs proprietary label free intrinsic imaging (LFII) technology.

Cell Lysate Analysis

The analysis of cell lysate samples is required to identify the expression of protein products, their molecular weights, quantity and purity. Another routine procedure is the analysis of up- and down-regulation of proteins as a result of cells being challenged during growth. The Peregrine allows label-free analysis of complex protein mixture from crude cell lysates, using just nanolitres of sample. It gives high resolution separation and molecular weight characterization, with none of the disadvantages such as sample deformation or change in mobility, associated with the use of fluorescent or chemical labels. Further details are provided here.

Protein Analysis

The identification of proteins as targets for therapeutic intervention, markers of drug side effects, or disease is expected to greatly increase in importance in the discovery and development of future drug therapeutics and for disease diagnostics. The Peregrine HPCE is facilitating protein scientists to achieve their goals in the following areas:

  • Biomarker discovery
  • Protein expression profiling
  • Protein interaction analysis

Small Molecule Analysis

Over 75% of small molecule drugs are chiral and HPCE is the method of choice for chiral analysis. The Peregrine HPCE with enables fast high quality separations of small molecules with the ability to detect the smallest possible impurities.

Molecular Sizing

Gel electrophoresis techniques are most commonly used for the separation and sizing of molecules of interest. However, these methods are known to be labour intensive and only semi-quantitative. Peregrine provides high quality separations without the use of labels to provide fast reproducible molecular sizing and offers an alternative to existing techniques.

Other Applications

  • Viral Analysis
  • Metabonics/Metabolomics
  • Oligonucleotide Synthesis
  • Pharmacalogical Characterisation Analysis
  • Pesticide Analysis
  • Medical Diagnostics
  • Forensic Toxicological Studies and Victim Identification
